EURAXESS is a joint initiative of the European Commission and the countries participating in the European Union's Framework Programme for Research.
EURAXESS - Researchers in Motion is a one-stop shop for researchers seeking to advance their careers and personal development by moving to other countries. In addition to the information on training and jobs, this electronic gateway is the entry point to a wealth of practical information on living, working and relaxing in the European countries involved.
EURAXESS is a continuation of the ERA-MORE project that was launched by the EU in 2005.
Assistance to researchers is provided in 2 ways:
The Researcher's Service Centers, operated by the universities, offer free, customized assistance and information to mobile researchers who are planning to pursue research in Europe. The centres assist researchers in all matters relating to their professional and daily lives, including practical information on housing, schooling, day-care or language courses.
The Researcher's Mobility Portal provides all the relevant information on reserach opportunities, grants and fellowships, general and practical information required for the mobility of researchers.
