There are 3 Research and Development sections:
Academic Research, Industrial Research, Government Research.
The Ministry of Science & Technology prioritizes scientific research solely on a professional basis. The ministry is in charge of all the budgets aimed at developing scientific & technological infrastructure, and is able to mobilize funds within government R&D.
Main Priorities in the Activity of the Ministry of Science & Technology:
· Setting up a national policy and priorities for Research and Development.
· Development of scientific and technological infrastructure in Israel.
· Establishment and strengthening of foreign scientific relations.
· Participation in the establishment of research centers, including regional R&D centers.
· Participation in the development of scientific and technological human resources.
· Increasing awareness to science within the public, especially within youth.
· Developing digital infrastructure (facilitating access to information).
· Consulting the government and its offices in the area of Science & Technology.
· The minister of Science & Technology serves as the chairman of the Ministers Committee for Science & Technology and as the chairman of the Chief Scientists Forum.
