One of the ways used to promote science in Israel is support via scholarships, in order to develop Israel's scientific manpower reserves.
The Ministry attributes great importance to the nurturing of the research manpower, which is one of the most important subjects on the Infrastructure Program. This is manifested by the scholarships granted to research students, and post-doctorate students
During the last decade, The Ministry has initiated a special program for supporting specific sector in the Israeli society, and especially the Arab, Druze and Cherkessk populations studying for doctorate and post-doctorate degrees.
The Ministry also initiated a scholarship program for encouraging women dealing with Science and technology.
The Ministry also supports women studying for their first degree in Science and Technology, in order to enlarge the number of women in the various fields of science, which currently have very few women representatives.
These are the programs for support via scholarships:
· The "Eshkol Scholarship"
· Scholarships for Arabs, Druze, and Cherkessk
· Scholarships for Women
