BASHAN is a unique Israeli government organization for the encouragement and promotion of technological entrepreneurship, novel technologies and innovative products as well as the realization of technological and scientific potential of new immigrants in Israel.
BASHAN offers its services free-of-charge to immigrants to Israel from all over the world, returning residents and potential (future) immigrants.
Goals:
The goals of BAHSAN's activity are:
· Promoting technological and scientific inventions and ideas of new immigrants in Israel (individuals and start-up companies)
· Assisting immigrant scientists and engineers in their absorption and integration into the Israeli industry
· Guiding and advising technological entrepreneurs and scientists who are still abroad and considering immigration to Israel
· Developing technological and scientific cooperation with the countries of Eastern Europe and the CIS (former Soviet Union) through the promotion of technological enterprises
The BASHAN Program offers the following services:
· Patent search
· Expert evaluation of projects
· Assistance in finding partners in Israel and abroad
· Assistance in mobilizing capital
· Business mentoring for selected projects
· Assistance in starting projects in technological incubators
· Consulting in business, patenting and legal issues related to projects
· Financial assistance from the special fund of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor up to NIS 210,000 in the initial stages of the project to draft and file an application for patent, create the prototype, and draft the business plan
· Presentation of projects in specialized publications, exhibitions, congresses, etc.
· Joint R&D and promotion of projects with partners from the CIS and other countries
The BASHAN Program
· Arranges visits to industrial enterprises and research centers
· Invites specialists to deal with technological problems of industrial enterprises
· Holds professional seminars
· Arranges meetings and lectures with the participation of leading Israeli businessmen
All services are free of charge.
In the 10 years of its existence the BASHAN program
· Examined close to 5000 projects submitted by scientists and engineers
· Created dozens of enterprises and firms
· Found jobs for hundreds of specialists
· Enabled new immigrants to participate in defense projects
Investments:
Financial support for a promising project – up to NIS 210,000 – is allocated by a special commission of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor
Confidentiality:
During all stages of work under the BASHAN PROGRAM no information about the projects will be divulged and confidentiality is guaranteed.
Who is eligible for participation in the BASHAN program?
· Scientists, engineers and other specialists who have created technological projects and arrived in Israel not more than 10 years ago
· Returning residents
