"In the Footsteps of Science"

The aim of this project is empower the scientific and technological knowledge of youth in the periphery of Israel, along with educating the youth to values of social and personal leadership skills and community service. The project is a joint initiative to MOST, the Jewish Agency and Ort Israel.

The project objectives:

  • To narrow the gaps between the periphery population and the center population, by providing a chance for personal and social enhancement.
  • Education to good citizenship and community involvement
  • Encouragement of curiosity and innovation among youth
  • Personal intensification

Over 2,000 children  were successfully integrated in the program. The program will continue for three years, and it includes weekly sessions and teaching and integration camps on summer holidays. The participants acquire training and practical experience on the educational - scientific field, and are trained for voluntary activities with young children.

The project has been executed in Sderot and Aco for two years. Starting from this year, additional groups were established in Dimona, Yeruham, Ma'a lot, Beit-Jan, Katzir-Harish, and Arad.
